Project Initiative
The marketing team at Trilogy was experiencing inefficiencies with its corporate web site and a lack of resources for developing departmental web sites and customer portals. Updates and development required internal resources that were not available. This lack of access to resources limited Trilogy's ability to adapt and effectively respond to changing customer needs.
The Search for a Solution
Trilogy sought a solution that would minimize site down time during critical updates as well as provide easy-to-use content management tools that would put the power of updating the corporate site and customer portals into the hands of non-technical marketing users. Headspring's background in the deployment of content management solutions combined with extensive custom programming experience was a great fit for Trilogy.
Project Objectives
Trilogy needed a web-based infrastructure that could be scaled and updated with ease and with use of minimal internal resources. The system needed to meet the following criteria:
  • Improve existing code or migrate source code of existing web assets to a more scalable architecture and better supported language.
  • Implement user-friendly content management tools for ease of maintenance by non-technical marketing staff.
  • System must comply with existing IT standards.
  • Ability to launch departmental micro-sites with user management, product information, demos and specifications.
The Headspring Solution
Trilogy chose to develop and implement a scalable, XML-based web site architecture with custom-built content management tools built to match their needs. The decision was then to decide whether to use internal resources from their office overseas or outsource to a local firm for development and implementation. In order to get the job done as efficiently and rapidly as possible, Trilogy asked the Headspring team to develop and deploy the entire project from inception to completion. Trilogy also benefited from a local presence and management methodology. They were able to stay more involved in the key areas of deployment that needed their attention while also avoiding the pain points of managing a team overseas.

The new Headspring solution met all of the goals, and was delivered in record time. The Trilogy team adopted the tools immediately without a lengthy installation process or transition period. Furthermore, the Headspring-designed system was IT-compliant and is now fully supported by Trilogy's internal resources.

The Trilogy team now has all the tools needed to manage multiple sites with multiple permission-structures - all without a second of downtime. Trilogy now has dedicated sites for specific user groups and an easy way to keep those sites up to date with the latest news and information. Perfect!
