AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 19, 2012 – Headspring, a custom software provider, today announced it has hired two new Senior Consultants, Deran Schilling and Nolan Egly, and one new Principal Consultant, Alonso Robles to the growing team. In their new roles, Schilling and Elgy will be responsible for providing technical leadership on client projects and best-of-breed, creative solutions to client’s needs, while Robles will lead multiple client projects to delivery with Headspring’s “no surprises” approach to software.

Schilling is a highly skilled programmer with more than 11 years of experience in outfitting vital software for educational institutions. As a lead software engineer for Houston Independent School District, he developed an application for the human resources department, saving the district $1.1 million. Schilling will bring his talent for developing reliable software to serve human needs to Headspring.

Headspring Begins Phase Six of the Custom Software Project for EPA Systems

AUSTIN, TX – Dec. 10, 2011, Headspring, a custom software provider, today announced the beginning of phase six of their extensive project with EPA Systems, LLC, an environmental consulting company specializing in all facets of air quality measurements.

Headspring is working with EPA Systems and its client, one of the largest oil and gas companies in the world, to help the company conform to new U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) regulations. Headspring is developing important software to help EPA Systems and its clients meet the U.S. EPA requirements. The law requires oil and gas companies to monitor and report on more than 17 different operations that emit greenhouse gasses. Headspring was given the challenge of creating an innovative and effective data analysis software program to give the company the ability to gather and report the information with ease. AUSTIN, Texas, Nov.1, 2011 – Headspring, a custom software provider, today announced it has named Ryan Andrus Vice as its newest Principal Consultant. In his role, he will be responsible for smart client software development and guidance, including WPF and Workflow Foundation.

Vice is an extremely diverse enterprise programmer with more than 12 years of experience. He joins Headspring from Sogeti, where he worked as Manager Architect and gained experience managing and training teams varying from six to 20 programmers to develop processes. Open Source Tarantino Moved to Bitbucket

Tarantino, the ultimate developer toolkit and Headspring sponsored open source project, has been moved to the code DVCS hosting site Bitbucket.

The Tarantino project contains many useful tools to help teams perform valuable tasks such as Database Change Management and Application Deployment Management. Headspring consultant and open source contributor Pedro Reys notes “open source projects are important and often utilized when developing custom and innovative applications thanks to its flexibility and transparency”. Former Principal Consultant to Direct Growth of Developers and Manage Software Development

Glenn Burnside, an engineering graduate of Texas A&M University has a deep track record of solving business problems using custom software. Having served in the engineering departments at National Instruments and Dell, Inc, Mr. Burnside brings broad skill and experience to the table.


Headspring promotes CIO

Austin, Texas – February 16, 2011 – Headspring announces a promotion for Jeffrey Palermo from Chief Information Officer (CIO) to Chief Operating Officer (COO). Jeffrey has progressively transitioned in position to oversee all post-sales operations company-wide for Headspring and his change in designation reflects his growth.

A CIO is typically responsible for tackling new challenges and strategic initiatives and for setting the vision for an organization’s technical direction. A COO, in contrast, is typically responsible for the health of an organization’s overall production ensuring that day-to-day operations are smooth.

Weekly sessions will provide ongoing training for Austin-area developers.

These sessions will be held weekly from 8:30 to 10:00 AM on Tuesday mornings beginning January 4th. Teaching the classes will be Microsoft MVP and Headspring CIO Jeffrey Palermo. The topics will progress weekly, covering advanced development and testing techniques, database change management, agile methodologies, and more.

Mr. Palermo is a nationally regarded expert in software management and developer coaching. He is also the lead author of ASP.NET MVC 2 in Action. “Large software labs have the benefit of moving programmers around and spreading knowledge,” Palermo commented. “This program brings some of the same benefits to members of smaller teams. The topics are relevant and always fresh.”
